ADEETIE is not just about financial aid but a holistic approach to unlocking the untapped potential of MSMEs. This initiative will lead to significant energy savings and position our MSMEs to compete globally - Milind Deora, BEE Secretary

Vijayawada: Over 8,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will be benefited envisaging an investment of more than Rs.9,000 crore in energy efficiency technologies under the Assistance for Development of Energy Efficient Technologies in Industrial Establishments (ADEETIE) scheme, according to Milind Deora, Secretary, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE),

The BEE’s ADEETIE scheme is designed to support MSME clusters in a phased manner and is planned for implementation across India covering several States focusing on energy-intensive clusters. Key sectors such as foundry, pharmaceuticals, textiles, paper, and fisheries - particularly in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala - have been identified for initial rollout.

Towards energy-efficient practices and aligning them with global technological advancements, the Ministry of Power, through BEE, has planned to implement a technology-enabled financial incentive scheme named ADEETIE.

This initiative is designed to foster the upgradation to energy-efficient technologies through targeted financial instruments among MSMEs. The scheme, according to BEE officials, aims to provide comprehensive support including investment-grade energy audits, technology implementation assistance, and fiscal incentives such as interest subvention on loans.

This interest subvention will alleviate the financial burden on MSMEs, enabling them to adopt cutting-edge energy-efficient technologies with reduced financial stress.

While delivering a keynote address at the first day of the Indo-German Energy Partnership National Summit here on Thursday, Milind Deora, BEE Secretary, said that the ADEETIE scheme expected to benefit more than 8,000 MSMEs, facilitating investments in energy-efficient technologies exceeding Rs9,000 crore, highlighting strong industry engagement.

“ADEETIE is not just about financial aid but a holistic approach to unlocking the untapped potential of MSMEs. This initiative will lead to significant energy savings and position our MSMEs to compete globally,” said Deora.

BEE Director Shyam Sunder elaborated on the scheme’s proposed components outlining its comprehensive implementation plan.
